There are 2 distinct parts to the drive-rite Schooldrivers education program: classroom and behind-the-wheel. You can begin your drivers training on any day that you choose since each session is independent of each other.
Teen Classes Driver's training for teens is held Monday through Wednesday from 5:45p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) in our fully digitized calssroom. Classes take 2 weeks (8 sessions) to complete and students can start on any of the evenings listed, provided seating is available. If a day needs to be missed, it can be made up 2 weeks from the originally missed class at no extra charge, for up to 5 cycles (10 weeks). A combination of textbooks, including "Responsible Driving" written by The American Automobile Association and Drive-Right versions (2006,2007, and 2010), are used to give young drivers "the best of the best" in preparation and education. In-Car Instruction The second part of our driver's training program includes working our in-car sessions around your schedule. Once the student completes the classroom portion, Simply log on to our website and schedule your B-T-W driving times. You will drive one-on-one with your instructor, This portion of our program is a partnership between the parent, student, and (driving school); therefore, we at drive-rite request 25 to 30 hours of diverse behind-the-wheel experience with a parent (50 hours is required by the State of Ohio before they can take the Basic Operating Skills Test).
Need extra time behind the wheel? No problem! We offer an additional 90-minute driver's training for only $70.00.
Requirements For the behind-the-wheel sessions, students must have their temporary license to drive. We will check for temps before letting students drive. .
Day-of Test/Refresher Session and cone rental If you opt to take the test in our vehicle, we pick you up 45 minutes before the test to review maneuverability, do a series of left and right turns, and practice 3 and 5-light intersections to ensure roadworthiness and relieve the butterflies. We also arrive at the testing station 15 minutes before the scheduled test time. The fee for this service is $85.00 and all fees are due before the test date, along with a voice confirmation from the instructor and drive-rite. (sign up for our Premier package and save)
We also allow our students to rent cones and sticks to practice the maneuverability for $10.00 a day or $15.00 for the weekend
